Master's Degree in Space and Aeronautical Engineering

Individual Research

The Individual Research is meant for the students who prefer to develop a larger Master's Thesis (21.5 ECTS). During the Individual Research, they will be able to start to engage in the subject, allowing them to set an important basis before starting their Master's Thesis and hence giving them the chance to develop more complex ideas or adapt better to external companies internship demands.

Group Research

The Group Research aims to envolve the student into a participative environment that every engineer will have to be familiarized with in the workplace. Under the supervision of a National Contact Point, the students will work together in order to develop a Project Management Plan and a Horizon H2020 proposal in the field of Aerospace.

Master's Thesis

The Master's Thesis can be developed in the University research groups:

  • CIEFMA Centre d'Integritat Estructural i Fiabilitat dels Materials (Center of Structural Integrity and Material Fiability)
  • CTTC Centre de Transferència de la Calor (Heat Tranfer Center)
  • LAIRE Laboratori Aeronàutic i Industrial de Recerca i Estudis (Aeronautic and Industrial Research and Studies Laboratory)
  • LEAM Laboratori d'Enginyeria Acústica i Mecànica (Acustic and Mechanical Engineering Laboratory)
  • LITEM Laboratori per a la Innovació Tecnològica d'Estructures i Materials (Laboratory for the Technological Innovation of Structures and Materials)
  • MCIA Grup d'Accionaments Electrònics i Aplicacions Industrials (Electronic Actuators and Industrial Applications Group)
  • POLYCOM Tecnologia de Polímers i Compostos (Polymers and Composites Technology)

  •  TERFIQ (ermodinàmica i Fisicoquímica (Thermodynamics and Phisical Chemistry)
  • TIEG Terrassa Industrial Electronics Group

Future Career

The Aerospace Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – BarcelonaTECH are extremely well considered by employers. The University holds Forums for establishing strong bonds between students and companies, which usually lead to internships and posterior careers. Often, the Master's students manage to combine their studies with internship agreements supervised by the University. Some examples of destinations of our graduates are

  • Airbus
  • GMV
  • ALG
  • Hemav
