Descripció:
3Cat-8 is a scientific and technology demonstration mission based on a 6-Unit CubeSat. It is being developed by the UPC NanoSat Lab as a platform for ionospheric scintillation monitoring, as well as testing of communications, instruments and deployment systems. To ensure the mission’s success and the optimal performance of its on-board scientific experiments, it is crucial to conduct a thorough thermal analysis of the satellite, especially for the most critical phases of the mission.
Objectius:
The main goal of this project is to study and adapt the 3Cat-8 CAD model to a suitable software and analyse the results obtained for the different phases of the mission. Then, the specific objectives are:
1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of how thermal conditions affect nanosatellites in space environments.
2. Study and adapt the 3Cat-8 CAD model to a suitable software, taking into account both thermal performance and economic feasibility.
3. Analyse the results and ensure the nanosatellite's thermal stability and performance during critical mission phases through comprehensive thermal analysis.
Tasques a realitzar / Característiques:
1. Study and compare the different software available to conduct the thermal analysis. 2. Adapt and simplify the current 3D model of the satellite to meet the conditions required by the chosen software. 3. Obtain the thermal analysis results for the most critical phases of the mission. 4. Analyse the results and, if necessary, propose solutions for any potential problems identified.
