LOGÍSTICA GESTIÓ D'EMPRESES

Descripció:

This master’s thesis is focused on supporting and enhancing planning and logistics operations at a chemical corporation. The study aims to bridge mid-term planning with short-term execution by improving data accuracy, tracking performance, and supporting scheduling and inventory analysis. Emphasis will be placed on identifying and addressing inefficiencies, standardizing processes, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive planning accuracy and operational alignment. The project combines practical support with analytical insights, helping to improve the effectiveness and agility of the corporation's production planning systems.

Objectius:

1. Monitor and report discrepancies between planned and firm production orders. 2. Support the maintenance of short-term production schedules with accurate data. -Track daily production performance and highlight deviations. 3. Collaborate with planners to manage stock levels and mitigate inventory risks. 4. Analyze inventory data with a focus on slow-moving and obsolete items. 5. Contribute to the documentation and standardization of planning processes. 6. Engage in planning related improvement projects, including digital tool implementation.

Tasques a realitzar / Característiques:

1. Initial integration and data familiarization: The first Task will be on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s planning systems, tools, and workflows. This includes collecting relevant data on production scheduling, stock levels, and planning performance indicators to establish a baseline for further analysis. 2. Operational support activities: The second task will contribute directly to daily planning operations. This involves assisting in actionable schedules and supporting the monitoring of firm versus planned orders. Maintaining the accuracy of production schedules by updating them based on real-time data, as well as tracking daily production performance to detect and report key deviations that may affect planning accuracy or operational flow. 3. Analytical tasks and risk identification: Next step will include in-depth analysis of inventory data to evaluate current stock levels, highlight slow-moving and obsolete items, and identify potential risks such as overstocking or shortages. This milestone will form the basis for improvement proposals aimed at optimizing stock management and enhancing overall planning reliability. 4. Cross-functional engagement and process documentation: This involves active participation in regular alignment meetings with key stakeholders across departments including Supply Planning, Purchasing, and Production. Contribute to the documentation and standardization of planning processes, with the objective of increasing transparency, reducing variability, and making procedures easier to replicate or automate. 5. Final analysis and recommendation phase: This Task will evaluate the outcomes of the activities and support provided throughout the project, assessing their impact on planning efficiency and data accuracy. Based on this evaluation, the thesis will present recommendations for further process improvements, including opportunities to integrate digital tools, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and establish more agile and efficient planning systems.
