Descripció:

This Master’s Thesis proposes the continuation and extension of a previous thesis focused on the development of a modular Python-based tool for intercontinental route optimization in hypersonic transport. The new work aims to deepen the systematic analysis of all viable routes between two continents, using Europe–Australia as a representative case study, with the objective of improving algorithmic accuracy, updating and refining the datasets used, and enhancing result visualization through interactive heatmaps. In addition, the project incorporates a more detailed environmental analysis of the optimized routes, assessing the environmental impact associated with different trajectory configurations and comparing alternative scenarios. The expected outcome is a more robust, visually intuitive tool that supports decision-making in feasibility studies for long-range hypersonic transport.

Objectius:

* To systematically analyze all potential routes between Europe and Australia, considering different combinations of intermediate nodes. * To improve and update the Python code developed in the previous Master’s Thesis, enhancing its structure, efficiency, and maintainability. * To update and expand datasets related to airports, spaceports, distances, and operational parameters. * To implement heatmaps that allow intuitive visualization of route optimization according to criteria such as travel time, cost, and emissions. * To deepen the analysis of the environmental impact of the studied routes by incorporating more detailed metrics and comparative assessments across alternatives. * To evaluate the robustness and sensitivity of the results to variations in input parameters.
