Descripció:

Pick-and-Place Machines are a critical component of modern electronics assembly, providing precise and efficient placement of components onto PCBs. Current products in inidustry incorporate advanced technologies such as machine vision, motor control, and pneumatic systems to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency. Despite their widespread use, Pick-and-Place Machines still face challenges in terms of accuracy, efficiency, and reliability. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for machines that can handle a wider range of component shapes and sizes, operate at higher speeds, and reduce production downtime.

Objectius:

Our Pick-and-Place Machine is a state-of-the-art solution for PCB assembly, incorporating the technology in vision systems, motor control, and pneumatic systems. We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to help us complete the construction of the machine and bring it to full operational capability. We also are also engaged to the development of advanced algorithms for machine vision, improving motor control for more precise movement, and integrating smart sensors to monitor the performance of the machine.

Tasques a realitzar / Característiques:

The successful candidate is expected to optimize these components for improved efficiency and accuracy, assuming the following tasks: 1. Complete the assembly of the Pick-and-Place Machine for PCBs 2. Integrate the different components of the system: vision system, motors, and pneumatic system 3. Commission the machine and ensure proper functioning 4. Optimize the machine for improved efficiency and accuracy for, at leat, one element of the whole system

12, 15, 18, 24, 48 ECTS depending on the Bachelor or Master degree the student is enrolled in

Requisits:

The successful candidate will have experience in automation, mechatronics, and control systems and should meet as many of the following requirements as possible: High school degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field At least 3 years of experience in automation and control systems Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems, motor control and hardware (Raspberry, Pi, Arduino, Jetson Nano, among other embedded system platforms) Programming languages: C++, Python, Processing, Web (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React and such) Experience with vision systems and machine learning algorithms, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are a plus
