This project focus un studying the feasibility to detect faults in power cables intended for high-voltage direct current links for offshore applications. The project has an important experimental part. The experimental results are required to adjust a theoretical simulation model that will interpret the results and will determine not only the presence of the fault but also its location. We offer the possibility of a scholarship.

Objectius:

The objectives of the project are: - To set the experimental setup - To help laying the cable (1 km of length) - To perform a battery of tests in the cable using a high-voltage pulse generator and a fast oscilloscope - To interpret and process the data for the simulation model - To run the simulation model and extract conclusions
