[June 5, 2020 - 21:27h] Information / Instructions PHASE 2 at UPC Terrassa

Dear friends,

As you already know, the Management has informed us that next Monday, June 8, we will enter Phase 2 of the Plan for the unlockdown and progressive reactivation of the activity of the UPC (document). We recommend that you read the document to have complete information on the actions related to each Phase and the progress towards normality.

In summary, Phase 2 prioritizes non-contact work but certain face-to-face activities are authorized, such as:

  • Support Services to the research laboratory.

  • Experimentation related to Final Research Work (TFE) and Doctoral Thesis. In this case, it is essential to have authorization from the Director of TFE, the Director of Thesis and the School Management.

  • Concierge service, limited activity (opening of spaces, reception of parcels, ...).

  • Maintenance Service.

  • ICT services.

  • Customer Service Points, only when it is essential to provide face-to-face support for academic activity.

However, on June, Wednesday 3, the Governing Council approved another supplementary document entitled Organizational measures for the process of progressive reincorporation in Phases 2 and 3 for unlockdown (document) (Agreement CG/2020/04/13). This agreement obliges the academic units to ensure the reinstatement of staff in person in a progressive form. In particular, in Phase 2 the maximum occupancy is restricted to 1/3 of the workforce.

In order to facilitate the control of people who intend to go to work in person, you must send an e-mail to direccio.eseiaat@upc.edu and within a maximum of 24 hours you will receive a personalized response with instructions to follow, that will depend on the group to which you belong and the activity to realize. The request must be made considering the time frame of the next 2 weeks which, theoretically, is what this Phase 2 will last.

The essential data that must appear in the e-mail are:

  • Identification of the person: Name and Surname, and contact telephone number.

  • Space identification: building, door you want to access and type of space (office, laboratory).

  • Requested dates: indicate the specific days or request a permanent permission of 2 weeks.

In order to authorize access to laboratories for Undergraduate or Master's students, the Doctoral Thesis Directors or TFE Directors must clearly indicate the reason, as well as the personal data of the Student.

The staff particularly sensitive (PES) must take additional measures. Complete information on the procedure and the form of communication can be consulted at the link of the Occupational Risk Prevention Service (SPRL). In summary:

  • Before joining, the PES must communicate its intention to ASPY by e-mail to salutupc@aspyprevencion.com, in order for the request to be evaluated and an individualized Report can be issued.

  • It is necessary to wait to have this Report to be able to incorporate in person.

At the support level, you will find the following services available:

  • Open parking in buildings TR1, TR11.

  • Open but restricted access to UPC staff and authorized companies in buildings TR1 and TR5.

  • Automated access to buildings with card access for people who already had a previously activated UPC card (dated 13 March).

  • Concierge service:

    • TR1, TR5, TR11, TR10, TR14 from 8:00 to 14:00.

    • TR1 from 14:00 to 18:00.

    • TR5 from 14:00 to 20:00.

    • TR10 uninterrupted.

  • Library Loan Service at the morning.

  • Internal Mail Service.

  • Reprography Service.

  • Bottled water at the Concierges until the previously installed fountains can be safely activated.

  • For face-to-face care of the other services, contact the service via SAU (https://sau.eseiaat.upc.edu/).

We remain at your disposal for any other questions and we are very grateful for your understanding and collaboration.

Best regards,
