In accordance with the health authorities’ guidelines, UPC has suspended face-to-face teaching activities starting on March 13, 2020.

The external academic internships are specialize experiences, under UPC’s supervision, which are develop in external places from the university. Due to the displacement restrictions on streets and having in consideration that the internships in any case are working activities that enjoys exceptional permission to perform, we proceed to give the necessary instructions that goes in concordance with it.

These instructions applies, to external academic internships that are carried out through educational cooperation agreements, either with companies, institutions or with the University itself, and at the same time it also applies to the scholarships that are carried out at the UPC.

External academic internships formalized through Educational Cooperation Agreements.

1. The educational centers will transfer to the students and to the collaborating entities the possibility to realize the academic practices in through non-face-to-face procedures, so that in no case it implies a need of displacement for the student.

2. When the above option is not possible, an attempt will be made to agree with the parties involved to redistribute the student’s dedication during the term of the signed agreement, so that the initial hours dedication agree and the correspondent training plan are fulfilled.

3. At any time, an extension of due date may be signed, keeping the expected initial dedication, if deemed necessary to maintain the practice while the health alert is in effect. Enclose you will find a model of Extension Form.

4. In the curricular internships we ask the collaborating entities as much flexibility as possible to guarantee the students educational project. If this not possible, the student must contact their UPC center, where they will study each case and try, depending on the point where their training plan is, to provide a continuity solution until their completion and evaluation.

5. During the health alert, no new internship agreements will be signed. Unless strictly required.

External academic internships, which are, carried out at the UPC itself through Educational Cooperation Agreements or learning or research initiation scholarships.

1. Trainee students or training scholarships at the UPC, will not do their tasks on a face-to-face form. They will do it according to the directions provided by the person responsible of their placement.

2. When the above option is not possible, an attempt will be made to agree with the parties involved to redistribute the student’s dedication during the term o the agreement or signed scholarship, so that the initial hours dedication agree and the correspondent training plan are fulfilled.
